Workforce 01
Career and technical education

We support government ministries and private operators in establishing and strengthening career and technical education. This includes program guidance, curriculum development, practica, certification requirements and assessments, instructor professional development and licensing, private-sector involvement, career counseling, and job-matching services. We develop activities related to career exploration for pre-primary and primary school students as well as vocational and career coursework for secondary, post-secondary, and adult education.

WORKFORCE 02
Labor market assessment

We support chambers of commerce, private industry councils, and government workforce initiatives to identify trends in local and national-level labor markets. Methods include engaging secondary and post-secondary students in employer visits and surveys as part of employment-readiness activities as well as larger-scale market analysis. We also support the dissemination of labor-market information to help schools create responsive career and technical programs and for students to plan better for future employment opportunities.

WORKFORCE 03
Employment readiness

We support government ministries and private school operators to develop classroom-based activities and extracurricular activities to promote career readiness at all levels of education. These include activities related to career awareness, employer expectations, on-site employer presentations, workplace visits, job shadowing, internships, and apprenticeships. They also include life skills related to personal hygiene, dressing for success, communication in the workplace, timeliness, planning, time management, team management, leadership, diversity, and inclusion.

WORKFORCE 04
Career counseling

We support government ministries, private school operators, and private sector employers in establishing model career counseling services. Services can be housed in standalone facilities or school-based resources linked to secondary schools, post-secondary colleges, vocational education centers, or adult education centers. Services can include short courses, virtual and in-person career boards, interview coaching, career exploration, and individual and group counseling sessions.

Job matching

We work with chambers of commerce, private industry councils, and government workforce initiatives to create job-matching services for secondary and post-secondary school graduates. This includes employer and job-seeker profiles and databases; as well as virtual and in-person job boards, interview spaces, and employment tracking.

WORKFORCE 06
Workforce policy and planning

We support government legislators and executives in crafting new workforce policies and regulations, analyzing policy proposals, and evaluating the efficacy of policy reforms. This includes educational programs related to career and technical education, industry development, scholarship programs, and employer benefits and subsidies. We also support governments in long-term strategic planning, annual planning and budgeting, regulatory frameworks, and program implementation schedules.

Home-based manufacturing

We support government regulators, artisans, and small-scale producers often build their businesses from home. These can be short-term income opportunities between jobs or full-time ventures. Different jurisdictions have different rules for home-based manufacturing businesses. We recommend regulatory frameworks for these businesses that protect public safety and neighbor inconveniences but, at the same time, allow small-scale entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow their home businesses over time. Doab Developmentā€™s founder has also produced a 20-part “Make It and Sell It” podcast about home-based manufacturing and success stories from various sectors.

WORKFORCE 08
Monitoring, evaluation, and applied research

We support governments and industry partners in the development and strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems related to workforce systems and labor market supply and demand. This includes reviews of monitoring goals; alignment between goals and data collection; data collection procedures; data digitization and cleaning; data completeness, validity, and reliability; protection of human subjects; analytics; data transparency; and reporting. We also support the development of timely and strategic evaluation and applied research questions that can be examined using ethnographic, econometric, and psychometric analysis. We similarly support data collection and reporting plans, data collection and preparation, analysis, and reporting.
